Fi: Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
George's Human: To be honest, becoming a dog influencer was not something I ever saw coming. When we first got our dog, George, we created an Instagram account to share his adventures with friends and family. These posts began getting some traction and attention, so I decided to devote more time to his social media. Though it has taken a lot of learning, and I still have more to do, sharing George on social media and seeing how many people love him has been so rewarding to witness.
Fi: What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
George's Human: I believe that George is unique and interesting due to his personality. Though it is hard to convey a dog's personality through social media, I try to make our content genuine and relatable, which in turn has given our followers a sense of knowing George personally. His personality influences many of his activities and adventures, which his followers also like to see. Whether it be exploring the outdoors, swimming wherever he can, competing in dog sports to earn titles, or just relaxing at home, George is happy to be there.
Fi: How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
George's Human: Our content typically aligns with what we are doing in real time. If there is an activity we've done or an adventure we've been on, I'll use that to create content. I also love seeing what trends and audios are popular, and seeing how we can add George to the mix!
Fi: Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
George's Human: We are fortunate that most of our social media experience has been positive, though that is not always the case for everyone. Regardless of the social media platform, everyone has differing opinions which can lead to conflict. In the future, if this were to happen to us, I would remind myself of the fact that at the end of the day, if George is happy, safe, and healthy, that is all that matters!
Fi: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
George's Human: My advice for someone who wants to share their dog on social media is to just be themselves! The followers that are worth having will be there to see you and your dog for who they are, not if you are pretending to be someone that you are not. Always make sure that at the end of the day, you and your dog are having fun!
Fi: How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
George's Human: George has influenced my life outside of social media significantly. His presence has brought me immense joy, new friendships, and adventures.
Fi: What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
George's Human: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is sharing George with the world! We have made many connections through social media because of him, and many people look to him for entertainment, inspiration, and joy. I am honored to do that for others!
Fi: Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
George's Human: We are excited for the upcoming summer, especially as George will start competing in Dock Diving for the very first time!
