Today we got the honor of interviewing Victoria (Missy & Elliot's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Tyler: It was an accident! I noticed my dog Missy was looking a little fuller in the waist so I pulled my camera out and started recording. The videos went super viral and this comedy sketch was born.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Tyler: Her personality! I truly believe she’s a human reincarnated…she believes that too.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Tyler: The interactions are real. I may hype up my responses to Missy and Elliot but everything I post is happening for real in that moment.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Tyler: Yes all the time. We lead with love over here so I don’t let negativity distract us from our mission. We are here to spread joy, love, and laughter. Misery loves company but my home is full of love and misery isn’t welcome in my space.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Tyler: Be authentic, have fun, and have your camera READY!

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Tyler: Missy and Elliot are actually my emotional support animals. I was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis in my early 20s and three years ago. I had to have my entire large intestines removed leaving me with a permanent ostomy bag. My husband gifted Missy and Elliot to me in an attempt to bring me out of a deep dark scary depression. In his mind, me having something to take care of that required me to get up early in the morning, take it out on walks, feed it and care for it was the remedy for my depressive state and he was right. My dogs saved my life and they bring me so much joy. I love my just for thinking outside of the box and finding my fur babies.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Tyler: Missy and Elliot love to go on car rides. We have learned not to say the word car around them because they immediately run to our garage tails, wagging tongues, hanging out ready to jump in the passenger seat.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Tyler: I never really considered myself a dog influencer. I use my social media platforms as my journal. I’m literally documenting what’s going on in my life in real time and right now my dogs are taking up a majority of my life because Missy just had 8 puppies! I’m sure my journey will change after they’re all rehomed, and my focus will shift, but my dogs will always be a priority and the loves of my life.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Tyler: Right now we are documenting the last three weeks of our journey with the puppies. There are a lot of people that come to my social media specifically for ad dopamine boost so I’ve been very busy making sure that I post plenty of content to spread joy. What’s next for Missy Elliott and the octuplets who knows you’re gonna have to tune to find out there’s always something crazy going on in my life.
