Today we got the honor of interviewing Faith (Honey's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Robinson: The moment we got Honey we knew she was something special. We have never seen a dog that’s so adorable and loved to be cuddled as much as Honey. We quickly learned her cuteness is unmatched with her sassy attitude and energetic personality. She never runs out of energy and is always on the hunt for new smells and lizards. Since Honey added so much love and laughter into our lives we wanted to spread the joy by creating social media platforms for honey.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Robinson: Honey sets herself apart by her spunk. She may look adorable which is absolutely correct but she’s one noisy adventurous girl. She is always surprising us with her noises, jumps, zoomie moments, how she plays with her brother Perry the pug, and so much more. Honey is the cutest dachshund that will also entertain you.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Robinson: Honey is the star of the show. We focus on her habits and routine then research new trends and sounds that will correspond with the content provided. Honey is naturally a star but for the creative process we utilize tags, audio, and music. We also make sure to have a tight-knit community where Honey interacts with her followers.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Robinson: So far Honey has been met with nothing but positive feedback. If we were to ever have any challenges we would review the issue with time to process what mistakes possible arised. Communication and honesty is key when dealing with negativity on social media. Mean comments are inevitable but if Honey has made an error she would address it with grace and compassion.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Robinson: My advice is to start now! Do not let the what ifs stop you from spreading the love of your fur friend. Once you’ve started consistency is key. Build a community that wants to interact with your page.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Robinson: Honey has improved my mental health immensely. She is the best distraction and snuggle bug I could ask for. She makes me take a minute away from the chaotic world to enjoy the moment in front of me.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Robinson: A turtle laid eggs in our back yard and Honey goes absolutely crazy whenever the mama comes back to check on the eggs. Honey is so small she can squeeze through the fence if she has enough motivation. She has gotten out multiple times when we’re trying to film her watching the turtle. All she does is run to it and bark but it makes my heart stop every time haha!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Robinson: My favorite thing is seeing the reactions of others who love my dog. I see Honey everyday but to see the joy of someone’s initial introduction is precious!
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Robinson: Honey plans on doing more “come with me” videos where people can see a day in her life. We will go on fun new adventures where people can see her in new environments.
